version control for hudson source: bidirectional git<-->svn?

I see the git repository at http://github.com/kohsuke/hudson -- very  
cool. I love git, but I'm pretty much a git newbie. But -- which is  
the source of truth, git or subversion? Or are they connected  
bidirectionally? How can that work?

Subversion is the master. I'm not sure if it's setup, but you can do bidirectional access if you're careful using git-svn.
