please add a prefix to the emails for this group

Francis
This describes how to do it, a group admin needs to do it:

This will make it a lot easier to manage the emails.

Thanks!

Hello Francis,

in google mail it is very easy to filter for
"list:<jenkinsci-dev.googlegroups.com>" which is a much better way
than looking into the subject IMO.

Re: please add a prefix to the emails for this group

Hi Mirko,

Thanks for your suggestion.

My problem is not finding the messages, it's more having the mail marked. Almost every other email list I'm in has the prefix of the list marking the message, so I know what I have to deal with urgently and what not to. Jenkins does not, so it looks like a bunch of random messages to me.

There is no way in gmail to mark the subject line based on a filter.

And this is an issue checking my mail both on my computer and on mobile devices (you can label email in gmail using a filter, but that does not help me with my iphone).

So I still would like to see a prefix for the group.

Andrew Melo
Using gmail on my iPhone, I just dump mailing lists to their own label, which shows up in a different folder on my phone, which works great.

I am very much against this. There are already lots of easy and
standard ways of doing this. I happen to think that reducing the
amount of Subject I see is way worse than having redundant information
occupying that space.

Richard Bywater-2
I agree with others - with Gmail's labels this should be unnecessary
as the label becomes the indicator...
