So I either misunderstood your request or you wanted to have this functionality in Jenkins 'core'. In the 1st case, please clarify your request, in the 2nd I'm sure this issue will be closed as won't fix as functionality available as plugins usually isn't included in core. The general tendency is to keep core as small as possible. > config files under users directory not backed up > ------------------------------------------------ > > Key: JENKINS-12846 > URL: https://issues.jenkins-ci.org/browse/JENKINS-12846 > Project: Jenkins > Issue Type: New Feature > Components: periodicbackup > Reporter: Nigel Robbins > Priority: Minor > > Hi, > Can the config files under the users directory be backed up please. > Either by default or via a configured option. > Thanks ! -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. I am using Jenkins security (Jenkins's own user database) that saves configuration information under $JENKINS_HOME/users (e.g. /opt/jenkins/user1/config.xml). I installed the periodic backup plugin and selected to backup ConfigOnly. The backup ran fine last night and backed up *.xml files in $JENKINS_HOME and under the jobs directory but not config files under the users directory. Am I doing something wrong or does the plugin not backup config files under the $JENKINS_HOME/users directory ? Hope this clarifies things.
