Add Users

This seems very basic, but how would i add users and how do i login to Jenkins.

When i try http://<my Jenkins IP:8080>/login

i get the username and login prompt, but when i hit Login button , i get
404 error:

I have installed 1.401 from scratch on ubuntu, and cannot figure out how to add users. The users icon is showing but does not do anything

Now that i look at jenkins log in /var/log

i get:

WARNING: Failed to scout hudson.plugins.groovy.GroovyTokenMacro
java.lang.InstantiationException: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/jenkinsci/plugins/tokenmacro/DataBoundTokenMa
cro


should i somehow revert back to older versions ? and HOW ?
